Juno 2-fix car seat
Test Winner in the European Child Car Seat Test 11/2013
The international teams of CYBEX engineers have been researching solutions on how to achieve greater safety for forward-facing Group 1 children. The result is Juno 2-fix.
- Adjustable impact shield (patent pending)
- Optimised Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P. System Plus)
- ISOFIX Connect for more safety and stability
The Group 1 seat is the Stiftung Warentest TEST WINNER 11/2013. Europe’s biggest automobile club ADAC awarded the top rating “very good” in all test categories: amongst others thanks to the adjustable impact shield (patent pending), the optimised Linear Side-impact Protection, and the very good handling and ergonomics. The ISOFIX Connect System further enhances the stability and safety of the seat.
Adjustable impact shield
Safety without confinement
The adjustable impact shield reduces the risk of serious neck injuries without confining the child (patent pending).
The force of a head-on collision is distributed over the impact shield and absorbed by its impact-absorbing materials. This system resembles an inflated airbag and helps to significantly reduce the force of impact in the event of an accident. The harness does not injure the child, while at the same time the sensitive head, neck shoulders and inner organs are protected. The newly designed adjustable impact shield (patent pending) adjusts for highest comfort perfectly to the child's body and additionally offers more freedom of movement of the upper body as well as maximum safety especially in frontal impacts when compared to conventional five-point harness systems.
L.S.P. System Plus
Optimised Linear Side-impact Protection
The optimised Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P. System Plus) absorbs the impact energy at a very early stage.
The force of a side-impact collision is absorbed in a linear series of reactions through the use of protective side cushions, along with the shoulder and head protectors. At the same time, the body's kinetic energy caused by the impact is absorbed at a very early stage and the head is actively led into a safe position.
More safety and stability
ISOFIX Connect System offers enhanced safety and stability and easy one-click installation. The seat's connectors simply snap into the vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points.

It's handy and placing the child in the seat and buckling-up doesn't require any tinkering! It’s really easy to use - without the usual swearing and sweating - even when the child is wriggeling around. The big shield in front of the belly gave me a safe airbag-like feeling.“

Is this the right seat for my car?
We extensively test the suitability for all our products in all the latest vehicle models. Should your vehicle not appear please contact our customer service team for further assistance. We always recommend that you do a test installation at a qualified retailer to confirm individual compatibility. You should especially check that your vehicle model has ISOFIX anchorage points (US: LATCH ) and the length of the vehicle seat belt as this may vary, even during the same production year of manufacture.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What is the difference between the Juno 2-fix and the Pallas 2-fix?
As a Group 1 seat, the Juno 2-fix specialises in the safety and comfort of children from approx. 9 months to 4 years (9-18 kg). It is particularly lightweight and is, therefore, ideal for being switched between vehicles. It is also designed with an air circulation system to help create a pleasant body temperature for your child. As a 2-in-1 seat, the combination Pallas 2-fix seat (Groups 1/2/3, approx. 9 months to 12 years, 9-36 kg) can be used for around 11 years. It meets the safety and comfort criteria of several groups. In Group 1 it protects the infant in a head-on collision in exactly the same way as the Juno 2-fix using a depth-adjustable impact shield. When your child reaches the age of approx. 3 years, the Pallas 2-fix can be converted in a few easy steps into the award-winning Group 2/3 seat known as the Solution X2-fix. Other benefits offered by the Pallas 2-fix include the patented, tilt-adjust headrest for safety while sleeping, and the adjustable lying position for extra comfort (in Group 1 only).
- Is it normal that the seat´s backrest is not completely locked and has a bit of room to wiggle when the seat is not installed in the car?
The reclining backrest is part of the CYBEX safety concept. Thanks to the automatic adjustment mechanism, it adapts perfectly to any car seat. In the worst-case scenario, the backrest moves slightly forward with your child, and is thereby able to ‘catch’ the body at an earlier stage. The seat and backrest are connected to each other, but are not rigid and don’t lock into place.
- My child tries to wriggle out of the impact shield car seat, even when it is properly secured. What can I do about this?
If your child is properly secured, the only way to encourage them to sit still is to remind them, patiently and persistently, to remain seated. If your child tries to wriggle out of the safety cushion while you are driving, we advise you to stop the vehicle at the first possible opportunity. Explain to your child that children MUST be secured until the end of the journey, just as adults do, and that they should not leave the seat under any circumstances.
- How do I position the impact shield so that my child is secured properly?
As a general rule, you can secure your child in the safest possible way if you follow these instructions: The impact shield should be positioned so it fits snug against the body without causing discomfort. If you are using one of our group 1 car seats, the impact shield can also be lowered or raised accordingly. For the seat to offer optimum protection, the waist belt should be tightly fastened. You can tell that the impact shield is in the correct position if you are able to slide your hand between your child and the shield. It is important to make allowances for clothing. For example, if the child is wearing a thick winter jacket, make sure it doesn’t bunch up but instead is flat so the impact shield and belt can fit against the body.
- Can I use this seat on a flight?
No, this seat is not approved for use on an airplane.
- Is it ok to keep using a seat after an accident?
We at CYBEX strongly recommend that you replace a seat after any kind of accident. This is because tiny hairline cracks, which may not be visible to the naked eye, can appear in the plastic parts of a seat after an accident. These cracks can pose an increased risk to safety.
- My car seat is faulty, how can I get it repaired?
Please refer to the retailer where you bought your CYBEX seat. They will deal with the matter on your behalf.
- Where can I get replacement parts for my product?
You can order replacement parts from a specialist retailer near you. To find a store near you, simply go to the store locator on our website: http://cybex-online.com/de/retailer.html
- Will CYBEX release an i-Size seat with a safety cushion?
Whether and when CYBEX will bring out another i-Size product is unknown at this moment in time. The engineers at CYBEX are constantly working in close cooperation with experts from other leading brands and institutions involved in child safety to drive forward the development of new products. As soon as CYBEX decides to launch a new i-Size seat, we will announce our plans on our website and on social media.
- Can I use an i-Size child seat in my car that is equipped with ISOFIX?
i-Size child restraints can be used in any car seat marked with the i-Size symbol; however, older cars may not be ‘i-Size ready’, even if they have ISOFIX points. If this is the case, please check the handbook of your vehicle.
- Can I still use my ECE R44/04 CYBEX child car seat/infant car seat as the new ECE R129 i-Size is valid?
Car seats that comply with the R44 standard are fully valid and can still be used in road traffic without restrictions. The new i-Size norm R129 will run in parallel for a transitional period of several years with the current R44. A planned ban of use of car seats that comply with R44 is not known at the moment. Therefore, there is no need to change your current car seat for a newer model. The CYBEX safety seats all comply with the highest safety standards and legal requirements and can still be used with complete confidence.
- Will the norm ECE R129 i-Size also be valid in the US?
No. There is a very different system of vehicle legislation in the US. This means that the US cannot accept R129 child restraints from Europe (and vice versa).
- Why does the norm ECE R129 i-Size now focus on the size of the child? Why is the age of the child not relevant?
R44 classifies child restraints according to the weight (of the child). R129 child restraints on the other hand, have a size range (as well as a weight limit). This new approach gives more confidence that the child restraint will fit a child over its full range and makes it easier for the parents to choose the correct car seat.
