Cloud Z i-Size Infant Car Seat
The Cloud Z i-Size is the logical successor to the award-winning Cloud Q concept, and is now about 15% lighter than before.
- Integrated Linear Side-impact Protection
- Ergonomic lie-flat position
- 180° rotating mechanism including Driving Direction Control (D.D.C.)
The child seat is equipped with a Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P.) System, which – in combination with the energy-absorbing car seat shell – significantly increases your child’s safety in a side-impact collision. The Cloud Z i-Size can be changed to a lie-flat position outside of the car and features 11 easy-to-adjust headrest positions with integrated harness guides. To make it easier to get your child in and out of the car, the seat can be swivelled to the door side of the car, thanks to the innovative Base Z mechanism. The base also includes Driving Direction Control (D.D.C.), which ensures that the child seat cannot be turned to a forward-facing position.
A UNIQUE SMART CLIP THAT ENHANCES THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD SEATED IN THE CAR
Peace of mind for you, ultimate safety for your child. CYBEX fuses smart technology and smart design with the introduction of SensorSafe: a unique child monitoring system that ensures the safety and health of your child is always your first priority. Available for several Platinum and Gold i-Size car seats, the SensorSafe clip attached to the harness system, keeping you informed of the safety and health of your seated child at all times.
SensorSafe provides essential alerts to help prevent critical situations: when your child unbuckles the clip, when the ambient temperature of your child is too hot or too cold, if your little one is left unattended in the car, and if your child has been seated for too long. All alerts are received via Bluetooth on your smartphone through a user friendly app that also provides guidance on installation, how-to videos, FAQs and more.
Ergonomic lie-flat position
The Cloud Z i-Size offers an ergonomic lie-flat position with a longer legrest for babies outside the car. The angle can be adjusted easily with one hand without having to take the child out of the infant car seat.
Rotating mechanism including Driving Direction Control (D.D.C.)
The innovative rotating mechanism provides a comfortable entry and exit position on the Base Z with less strain on parents' backs. In addition it makes switching between rearward and boarding position easy. The Driving Direction Control (D.D.C.) prevents misuse in forward-facing use.
Integrated Linear Side-impact Protection
The L.S.P. System of the Cloud Z i-Size offers increased safety in the event of a side-impact collision. It reduces the force of a side-impact in combination with the energy-absorbing shell by approximately 25%.
XXL foldaway sun canopy
An integrated, fold-away XXL sun canopy offers premium sun and wind protection with UPF50+.
Stay flexible – as part of the Z-Line Modular System, the Cloud Z i-Size and the Sirona Z i-Size both fit onto the Base Z for a continuously safe ride from birth up to 105 cm, approx. 4 years.
The adjustable headrest offers 11 positions for a customized adjustment as your child grows. The integrated harness guide makes adjusting intuitive and quick – these safety features can be adjusted to your growing child within seconds.
Removable newborn inlay
The Cloud Z i-Size features a removable newborn inlay, which ensures a near-flat lying position of the infant. This helps to reduce the risk of the baby's head tipping forward while asleep, which can lead to serious breathing problems. To offer more space as your infant grows, the newborn inlay should be removed once the child is taller than 60 cm.
The Cloud Z i-Size can be attached to any buggy or stroller from CYBEX, gb and other select brands, with the help of an adapter. The infant car seat becomes part of a convenient travel system outside the car for added mobility, offering a full travel system solution in one design language.
Safety is the top priority for any CYBEX and gb car seat: The flexible structure of the material absorbs the forces of an impact, and helps guide it away from the baby.
High-quality fabrics in a modern design with contemporary colours - the Cloud Z i-Size combines two fabrics in a unique way: One fabric is extremely soft and cosy, especially on the inside of the seat. Hard-wearing two-tone twill-effect fabric is used around the shell. This combination ensures that your little one has a comfortable journey. At the same time, it perfectly blends into the interior of a modern car.

Is this the right seat for my car?
We extensively test the suitability for all our products in all the latest vehicle models. Should your vehicle not appear please contact our customer service team for further assistance. We always recommend that you do a test installation at a qualified retailer to confirm individual compatibility. You should especially check that your vehicle model has ISOFIX anchorage points (US: LATCH ) and the length of the vehicle seat belt as this may vary, even during the same production year of manufacture.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Can I install the seat on the front passenger seat?
The car seat should only be installed on the passenger seat if the front airbag has been deactivated. Important: According to the Highway Code, it is against the law for your child to travel on a seat with an activated airbag. Placing your infant on a passenger seat with an activated airbag puts your child at risk of serious injury. For this reason, CYBEX always recommends installing the car seat on the vehicle’s rear seat (if possible behind the passenger). Statistics show that this is the safest place in the car. In a head-on collision, a child has a greater crumple zone on the rear seat where front airbags do not put your child’s safety at risk. If you have no choice other than to use the front passenger seat, please ensure that the seat is pushed back as far as possible.
- Can my child sit in the car seat in a forward-facing position?
No, according to standard R-129 children have to travel in a rearward-facing position until they are at least 15 months old. Your infant’s spine and neck muscles have not yet developed sufficiently to cope with heavier strains. In the event of an accident, the child’s head is propelled forward with a very high force. The child’s spine and neck muscles are not strong enough to withhold these forces. In rear-facing seats, the infant car seat works like a protective shield and protects the child’s sensitive head and neck.
- Is it ok to leave my child in the infant carrier e.g. at home?
CYBEX infant car seats have been engineered to offer the best possible protection for a baby during a car ride without affecting the child´s spine in a negative way. However, we do not recommend leaving the baby sleeping inside the infant car seat at home for long periods of time.
- What kind of clothing should my child wear when seated in the car seat?
Thick clothing prevents the harness from lying snugly against the body. This incorrect belt positioning could result in the harness slipping off the shoulder. For this reason, your child should wear everyday clothing. Thick clothing such as winter jackets should be avoided where possible. Once your child has been positioned in the seat, he/she can be covered with an extra blanket for warmth.
- How do I know when my child needs to change to a seat in the next group up?
We generally advise against switching from a rear-facing Group 0+ car seat (0-13kg, birth to approx. 18 months) to a forward-facing Group 1 seat (9-18 kg, approx. 9 months to 4 years) or to a combined Group 1/2/3 seat (9-36 kg, approx. 9 months to 12 years) prematurely. Even if your baby's feet protrude outside the car seat or your baby can already sit, your child has not necessarily grown out of the seat. However, if your baby's head is protruding above the top edge of the seat and your baby already weighs over 13kg, it is time to change the seat, as it no longer affords sufficient protection to the vulnerable neck and head area. After changing the seat, your baby’s head should be positioned within the protective area of the height-adjustable headrest of the Group 1 seat, enabling your child to see comfortably over the impact shield and to use the cushion as a play area. If your child disappears behind the impact shield, then he/she is definitely too small for a Group 1 seat.
- Can I use the car seat and base even when the side airbag is activated?
Yes, the side airbag can remain activated when using the car seat.
- Do both side protectors (LSPs) have to be extended?
The L.S.P. Side-impact Protection has to be folded out on the side nearest the car door when the seat is installed either on the right or left-hand side of the rear seat. In this way, the best possible protection is provided in a collision. In this instance, it is important to ensure that only the side protector nearest the door is extended. If the seat is installed in the middle of the rear seat, the Linear Side-impact Protection (L.S.P. system) must not be used under any circumstances.
- Where should the infant’s head be positioned so that the headrest is set to meet the child’s needs?
The headrest should be set so that there is a space of no more than two finger widths between the child’s shoulders and the bottom of the headrest. The headrest can be adjusted to the height of your child using the headrest settings (eleven settings).
- Is it ok to keep using a seat after an accident?
We at CYBEX strongly recommend that you replace a seat after any kind of accident. This is because tiny hairline cracks, which may not be visible to the naked eye, can appear in the plastic parts of a seat after an accident. These cracks can pose an increased risk to safety.
- My car seat is faulty, how can I get it repaired?
Please refer to the retailer where you bought your CYBEX seat. They will deal with the matter on your behalf.
- Where can I get replacement parts for my product?
You can order replacement parts from a specialist retailer near you. To find a store near you, simply go to the store locator on our website: http://cybex-online.com/de/retailer.html
